Biscuit Gravy Casserole
Biscuit Gravy Casserole
This casserole is an easy throw together dish for lazy mornings. You probably have all the ingredients anyway.
Ingredients:
8 count refrigerated biscuits
1 pound of sausage*
1 cup shredded cheddar
6 eggs
1/2 cup milk
salt & pepper
1 package peppered gravy mix
If making extra sausage gravy, you’ll need the drippings from the sausage plus 1/4 cup flour plus 1 cup milk
Instructions:
Make the peppered gravy mix according to the instructions on the package and set aside.
Brown the sausage.
If not making extra gravy, drain the sausage and set aside.
If making sausage gravy, add 1/4 cup flout to the sausage and drippings and cook for about a minute. Then whisk in 1 cup of milk until a gravy forms. Set aside
Cut the package biscuits into fourths and lay in the bottom of a greased 9x13” casserole dish.
Layer the sausage (or sausage gravy that you made) evenly over the biscuits.
Layer the shredded cheese evenly over the sausage/sausage gravy.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk then pour over top of the biscuits/sausage/cheese.
Season with salt and pepper.
Ladle the prepared gravy from the packet over the top of everything as evenly as you can.
Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.
